【GDtoday】954 boxes of Mongolia-donated mutton arrive in Guangdong
Starting from December 7th, 954 boxes of?Mongolia-donated?mutton have been sent to Guangdong one after another and the meat has been given to 2,495 Guangdong medical workers who fought the virus in Hubei province, which was hit hard by COVID-19 earlier this year.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Mongolia has expressed solidarity with China in its battle against the virus and decided to donate 30,000 sheep to China when its president Khaltmaa Battulga visited China on February 27th.

On the morning of December 7th, 33 boxes of mutton from?Mongolia-donated?sheep, which were slaughtered, processed, packaged in containers and labeled "Mongolia-donated sheep" in Erenhot, have arrived at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Doctors from the hospital held a simple handover ceremony for the mutton and said they are happy to receive these warm gifts and expressed appreciation for the Mongolian government and people.

The hospital specially invited Lu Jingquan, a Cantonese master chef of lamb cooking, to make three mutton dishes with Cantonese flavors for medical workers, including the Mutton Casserole, Braised Mutton Chops, and Roasted Gigot.

Since Chinese New Year’s Eve in 2020, the hospital has sent three batches of 150 medical workers to support Wuhan Hankou Hospital and the Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Meanwhile, it also sent five experts to join the Chinese Anti-epidemic Rescue Team to Serbia for medical assistance.

Frontline medical workers from other hospitals in Guangdong have also successively received these precious gifts from China’s neighboring country Mongolia.
